WWE.com: Triple H discusses his intense workouts with Joe DeFranco

Truly honored and humbled by Triple H's statements in the video regarding me and my gym.

I really hope the above video sheds some light on how hard many of these guys train. Trust me, they are much more than just "entertainers". Having worked with Triple H for almost two years now, I can tell you that the life, injuries and training of a WWE Superstar is just as intense and dangerous - if not more - than any other professional athlete! Training a dedicated WWE Superstar (like Triple H) is like training a gymnast, bodybuilder, Hollywood stuntman, world traveler and NFL linebacker all rolled into one! And remember that there's no off-season in the WWE, either! This creates some interesting challenges when programming their training.

After watching the video, come back to this page and drop me a comment below to let me know your thoughts. I'd also like to know  if you guys would be interested in a training article/feature that discusses the physical preparation of a WWE superstar? I was thinking this may be an interesting/unique feature for this website?

What do YOU guys think?...

-Joe D.

  1. I too would love an article discussing in more detail what you did with HHH in preparation, perhaps an outline of the template used. Keep up the great work Joe!!
  2. I agree with Tim >> Joe D is a true pioneer in the s&c field. I'd love to hear anything he has to say about training, especially an elite level (and over 40) athlete like Triple H. Very very cool stuff!
  3. Yes I would love to read/watch an article/feature. You are a true pioneer and love everything you do. The video proves how hard Triple H and all of the WWE Superstars work. Thank you
  4. It is great to be able to show this to my high school football players and say, "Look, there's Triple H doing some of the same exercises as you". Love the video and love Westside for Skinny Bastards!
  5. What a video!!!! Congrats Joe d, well deserved. Yesssir i'd lovee 2 get a little insight on what hhh did to prepare for mania!! i bought the ppv just b/c i heard u trained him. he looked better than when i watched wrestling 10 years ago

  8. As someone who is preparing to start training at a wrestling school I would love an article on physical preparation for a WWE superstar. Video was awesome!
  9. Hell yeah! i'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic!!!! even tho most of us will never train a wwe star i'm sure there is a ton to be learned from your experience training triple h
  10. Awesome idea! Very interested on the template, how the cosmetic work is thrown in, and the style of training period. After watching Wrestlemania, he looked the best he did in a Loooong time.
  11. "I'd also like to know if you guys would be interested in a training article/feature that discusses the physical preparation of a WWE superstar?" Hell yeah! That would be very cool.
  12. Game On, I would love to see an article on the programming in the WWE and how it rivals other programming. GOOD STUFF!
  13. What a sweet vid! When I played college baseball I used to wear Triple H's shirt on game days. I even had is entrance music as my walk up song when I was hitting. I've always been interested in what wrestlers do to prepare and maintain their bodies through the grind of every day life on the road plus the fact that they are taking a ton of bumps on top of that. I'm all for you posting an article like that. Congrats on all of your success Joe...out of all the elite athletes you train the fact that you are Triple H's trainer is the coolest to me.
